Drew Craven
Drew was born and raised in the UK but married an American and moved to North Carolina in 2006. Drew has had a lifelong interest in graphic design, though he also studied media production and photography before passing his BTEC Diploma in Foundation Studies in Art & Design at Herefordshire College of Art & Design in 1999. He then studied Three-Dimensional Design at Leeds Metropolitan University, graduating with a Diploma of Higher Education in 2002.
After college, Drew worked at a community education center in his home town while freelancing as a graphic designer. He volunteered as a graphic designer and layout editor with The South Wye News (a local community newspaper) for three years and, in 2005, Drew and his fellow volunteers received The Queen’s Award for Voluntary Service for their efforts.
Since 2007, Drew has been employed as a prospect researcher by the fund-raising division of UNCW. He continues to dabble in graphic and web design but his main creative outlet is through the Cape Fear Corpsers group, which he and Rachel Kastner founded in January 2010.
Drew really doesn’t have an artist’s statement but feel free to generate one on his behalf, here.
